In the beginning when Adam and Eve sinned against God, sin for the first time opened their eyes to their nakedness and they immediately covered their private areas with leaves sort of like a swimsuit (bikini) except more revealed….. Then God showed up, saw what they did and kills a animal and with the skin of the animal he covered them up whole.
Though the killing of the animal signified Jesus who would one day suffer the wrath of God for the Sins of man and cover us from our sins, my point there was that, we aught to be seriously mindful of how we dress especially when as a Christian. We are instructed to dress modestly and not to call attention to ourselves or cause another person to fall by lusting after the flesh in a sexual way, observe:
1 Timothy 2:9- Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, 10 but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness.
1 Peter 3:3- Your adornment (clothing) must not be merely external– braiding the hair, and wearing gold jewelry, or putting on dresses; 4 but let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the imperishable quality of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.
Matthew 5:28- but I (Jesus) say to you that EVERYONE who LOOKS at a WOMAN with LUST for her has ALREADY committed adultery with her in his HEART.
This last verse is a serious sexual sin considering our perverted and sexualized generation today. Let us all both men and women stay on the alert and be aware of how we are carrying our selves, judgment day will be a sight to see, don’t be that person who was the cause of another person’s fall and don’t be that person who chased after your lust and fell without repentance, both will be severly judged by our Lord. This ain’t a game, REPENT.
